University of Arizona

The University of Arizona, located in central Tucson, is a prominent public research university with total enrollment of over 35,000 students. Recent acceleration in the size and prestige of UA has driven real estate requirements beyond the capacity of the 387 acre campus. UA risked falling behind peer institutions based on required research facility standards established by such honorable designations as Research I University status, which in turn account for approximately $600 million in annual research funding.

From the outset, C&W established open communication within UA departments, administrators and the office of real estate administration allowing for clear understanding of each departments’ ever-changing requirements. Our team paired a true understanding UA’s academic based requirements with full utilization of C&W’s comprehensive suite of services, and implemented key solutions to address complicated real estate transactions.

When NASA contracted a $350 million mission to Mars through UA, C&W was strategically aligned to move quickly in acquiring a 50,000 square foot facility to house the UA Mars Phoenix Mission headquarters. To date, C&W has advised UA on over 30 projects with a total consideration of $300 million.
