Troy University

Troy University began opening off campus sites due to agreements with several branches of the military to offer advanced education programs for their military personnel. Over the last three years, C&W assisted Troy with over 30 campus locations throughout the country, mainly concentrated in Southeastern United States. Services included overall real estate strategy and implementation timelines, lease acquisitions, renewals and relocations. [Read more…]

Northern Arizona University

Northern Arizona University (NAU) serves more than 26,000 students at more than 35 locations statewide including the main campus in Flagstaff where they occupy 35,000 SF. The C&W project team conducted an extensive lease analysis revealing NAU’s current rental rates to be significantly higher than market comparables. A lease analysis also uncovered a cancelation provision, which NAU opted to exercise. [Read more…]

University of California, Berkeley

The University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley) is a prominent public research university in the San Francisco Bay Area with an enrollment of over 35,000 students. California’s budget problems dictated a drive within the UC system to reduce costs and drive efficiencies. With upcoming expirations of over 1,500 leases for leased space in off-campus buildings, UC Berkeley desired to relocate into recently purchased buildings totaling 800,000 SF. C&W created the transition framework and executed the cost containment plan. [Read more…]

Brandman University

Chapman University College previously housed their administrative headquarters on their home campus in Orange, CA. The University desired to create its own identity following a large donation and the re-naming of the college. The newly created Brandman University’s sought a prominent headquarters location to house its administrative office requirements as well as the Irvine student campus. A tight project timeline loomed as the Irvine facilities’ scheduled lease expiration date neared. [Read more…]

Touro University

Touro University International retained C&W to assist in developing and implementing an occupancy strategy. Touro occupied 42,000 SF in a building owned by RREEF, partially under sublease with Mitsubishi and partially on a direct lease with RREEF. The University wanted more space, a building top sign and a right to purchase the building. [Read more…]

South University

As of 2005, South University is one of four private, post-secondary educational institutions managed by Education Management Corporation. With over 110 years of academic history, South offers degrees at the associate, bachelor, master and doctorate levels in areas including business, nursing, pharmacy and creative art and design. The school has 13 locations in the United States and also offers online programs. [Read more…]

University of Arizona

The University of Arizona, located in central Tucson, is a prominent public research university with total enrollment of over 35,000 students. Recent acceleration in the size and prestige of UA has driven real estate requirements beyond the capacity of the 387 acre campus. UA risked falling behind peer institutions based on required research facility standards established by such honorable designations as Research I University status, which in turn account for approximately $600 million in annual research funding. KIPP Charter School Network

KIPP, the nation’s largest national network of public charter schools, wished to expand its footprint in the Gulfton community of Houston, TX. KIPP turned to the Education Practice Group to lead the charge in the purchase of a vacant four-story hospital. Building on an 8-year strong relationship, our team worked diligently on KIPP’s behalf to execute the deal within 40 days as required by the seller. Ultimately, the former hospital will grow to a PreK-12 school campus at full development, with the first phase to be completed by summer 2014. [Read more…]
